One of the most stressful things in life is a crisis in your finances. In fact the leading cause of divorce is financial trouble. Summer can be a time to work on the financial chaos in your life and start working toward a financial rescue.
I have found as a mother with school aged children and especially since I homeschool, that January is not a good time for me to make big changes in my life and carry out resolutions. However, summer always brings a time of renewal and regrouping. I think it is the best time to start working on finances.
This can be the perfect time to start decluttering and putting together items for a a garage sale or to list on Craigslist or eBay. It is a great time to learn new skills or start a small work at home business. In fact that is exactly what I am doing with my summer during my personal time.
Some of this project is inspired out of a very real need of money for the basics of life. As self employed people in the midst of a bad economy we have found ourselves standing on the jagged cliffs of bankruptcy. There are 2 choices, falling by focusing on the rocks below or keeping your balance on the edge and trusting God to help you make new things happen.
For me the answer to standing on that edge is creating an online business. In order for me to be successful I will have to:
1) have a definite vision
2) be fixed on a purpose
3) have steady faith
4) be a lifelong learner
5) live in gratitude
These are the things that I will be working on this summer. As I grow and learn, I want to share with others the path to financial freedom and peace. Stay tuned as my story unfolds.
